I was always interested in working in the health industry and with people. My friend was looking into Optometry so I decided I would look into it myself. Ironically, she became a teacher and I became an Optometrist.

I knew I wanted to help others see better after year 10 work experience where I learnt why I was wearing glasses. I instantly became interested in vision and eyes. Outside of work I enjoy cooking and taking photos of delicious food.

As a child I went to a Behavioural Optometrist which kick started my interest in Optometry. Later on in life I organised work placement at that same practice and really enjoyed it. After hours I enjoy playing volleyball and the violin.

Dr Arthur Karagiannis served three years as President of the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists (ASO) from
November 2011 until November 2014. He has been involved in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of
Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) at state branch level since 2001 and is now Vice President of RANZCO.
He practices privately in Adelaide and is committed to the delivery of high quality ophthalmic services to regional
communities. He has provided ophthalmology services to the Victorian town of Mildura for the past 10 years, and
also to the regional South Australian town of Berri.
Arthur has been involved in overseas aid to Burma providing ophthalmology training to local doctors. Born and
bred in South Australia, he and his wife Adrianna are proud parents of four children.
Aside from a busy practice and his involvement with both RANZCO and the ASO, he finds time for local
community activities including immediate past president and chair of the South Australian state soccer club,
West Adelaide.

Dr Bassili has trained, published, and undertaken clinical trials in the USA, Australia and UK. He has held
positions at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London), Southampton Eye Hospital (UK), Louisiana State University (USA),
Royal Victorian Eye and Ear (Melbourne), and Austin Hospital (Melbourne).
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of ophthalmologists, the American Society of
Retina Specialists and the Australia & New Zealand Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr Bassili established his private practice in Melbourne, Australia in 1991. He has expertise in treating a wide
variety of eye diseases particularly in cataract surgery, medical retina (such as age related macular degeneration,
diabetic retinopathy) and vitreoretinal surgery. He visits major hospitals in Melbourne, and in regional Victoria such
as Swan Hill and Mildura. Dr Bassili offers genuine and honest advice, taking into consideration quality of life,
general wellbeing, and the needs of each and every patient.
Dr. Tsirbas is a pioneer and world expert in his field. Offering a bespoke approach, he is a meticulous and gifted problem solver, and truly values the authentic happiness of every patient he treats.Dr. Tsirbas worked for many years as faculty of the Orbital and Oculofacial surgical department at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles. Here, he specialised in complex orbital and oculoplastic reconstruction as well as advanced techniques in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation. Dr Tsirbas also had a busy aesthetic practice based in Beverly Hills.

History
We are a locally owned and operated, independent Optometrists, with many years of experience serving the Mildura and Sunraysia district in northwest Victoria, Australia.
Established in 1984, Stephen Jones opened with a small practice at 96 Langtree Ave with only 2 staff. His strong commitment to Optometry and looking after the health of the eyes ensured the practice grew quickly. Over the years with the addition of extra staff and partners in the business, the Fifteenth St. practice was opened in 1996.
In July 2016 we had a name change to Eyecare Sunraysia with no changes to ownership and staff.
Currently we have 14 staff members and have expanded our services to meet our patients growing needs.
